The Sacred Heart Religious Education program offers religious instruction to children pre-school, age 4, through eighth grade.
All materials used in the program are in compliance with the General Directory for Catechesis. The curriculum provides complete and comprehensive presentation of doctrine, scripture, morality, prayer and sacraments, all taught in age appropriate and effective methodological ways. Supplementary materials e.g. videos, worksheets, Bibles, and cassettes are used. Curriculum outlines and schedules are given to parents each year.
Service and celebrations of Eucharist and Reconciliation are essential elements of the program.
Classes are held on Sunday mornings, 9 am to 10:15 am for children enrolled in pre-school through fifth grade. Grades six through eight attend classes on Wednesdays from 7 pm to 8:15 pm.

Mission
The goal of the Sacred Heart Religious Education Program is to develop the faith, love of Christ and peace within our children, establishing foundations for full and meaningful Christian lives. Parental example and involvement, in conjunction with classroom instruction and service projects, provide the building blocks for growth in and unity with Christ. An understanding of the precepts and tenets of the Church is to be established and nurtured through sacramental preparation and participation, the development of an understanding and appreciation of the liturgy and scripture, and the evolvement of empathy and regard for family and community.
Resources
The Resource Reference Library carries excellent enrichment materials at each grade level. Parents, students, and catechists can benefit from the wide range of resources available in the office.
